Photographs – our back-by-popular-demand photo contest! Submit an original photo of your cat for one of the following groups:
Best Friends – Let’s see your kitty with their best friend. It can be another cat or any lesser species like a human or other animal.
Power Napper – It’s what they do. They nap, and they know things.
Festive Felines – Has your cat helped you celebrate a holiday? Do they wear some fancy bling or dapper bow ties? Or do they just like to dress up?
If I Fits, I Sits – No empty box is safe!
Most Unique – Markings? Cattitude? What makes your cat unusual?
Videos – let’s see those crazy cat antics! Funny cat videos can make even the grumpiest cat smile. We are looking for YOUR video to include in the festival! Rules and Regulations: Photos and videos must be originals taken by the person entering and not copied from a third party. We reserve the right to exclude any suspected plagiarism from the competition. Enter as many times as you’d like. Must be 12 years old or older to enter. All entrants agree to the use and publication of their names and works for future promotions by Art for Cats’s Sake. All entries must feature cats (one or multiple). Entries cannot feature explicit scenes of cruelty towards cats or other animals. Material that is deemed inappropriate will be excluded from the competition.
Prizes: A panel will judge entries after submissions are closed. The panel will award a First Place prize to a single entry in each of the photo categories and one Grand Prize winner of the video category. Grand Prize and Honorable Mention videos may be included in the funny cat video presentation featured at the festival.
Submission Guidelines: Video files should be uploaded to YouTube as “unlisted” and the video LINK submitted (*see below for details) Videos should be limited to 2 minutes or less All photographs should be 5 megabytes or smaller and in JPEG (.jpg) format Entries must be submitted by or before 12:00pm (CDT) Monday, August 19th 2019 Please, one entry per email. Due to formatting concerns, videos will ONLY be accepted through YouTube links. Please do not directly email videos. Copy and paste the following entry information into your email, fill it out completely, then include your video link or attach your photograph. The subject of the email should contain the category you wish to enter. *The following is information to assist you in entering the video contest How do I upload a video to YouTube? There are many methods, depending on where your video is currently stored and what technology you have available to you. We encourage you to google how to upload a video to YouTube and then browse around once you have finished. YouTube is a treasure-trove of funny cat videos. What is an unlisted video and how do I upload one to YouTube? An unlisted video is a different type of private video. “Unlisted” means that only people who know the link to the video can view it (such as friends or family to whom you send the link). An unlisted video will not appear in any of YouTube’s public spaces (such as search results, your channel, or the Browse page). An unlisted video is different to a private video in these ways: you don’t need a YouTube account to watch the video (you can see an unlisted video if someone sends you the video’s link) there’s no 25 person sharing limit You can choose to make any of your uploads an unlisted video in your YouTube Account settings.
